MAX TERHUNE
Max Terhune was also known as "Lullabye" for the character in the
"The Three Mesquiteers" (the other two being Robert Livingston, and Ray
"Crash" Corrigan) when he replaced Syd Saylor from the original series.
Terhune was a ventriloquist who was on radio, and a former baseball
player in the American association. He met Gene Autry and Smiley
Burnette on the National Bran Dance, and Autry brought him to
Hollywood, where his first film was "Ride, Ranger, Ride" in 1936, with
both Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette.
He eventually made 21 films with the "Mesquiteers"
and starred in other series with John Wayne, and some movies with
Johnny Mack Brown. Also he appeared in some big movies such as; Giant,
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, and Rawhide. He died in Arizona in 1973.
